Learning a new language is an exciting and meaningful challenge. It helps you develop a range of worthwhile skills like reading, writing, listening and speaking Japanese that will enhance one’s thinking and ability to learn with ease in other learning areas. Learning a new language offers the students a new appreciation of cultures that may be different to their own.
At Morrinsville College, learning Japanese opens many career pathways which includes living and working in Japan, opportunities to work in media and communication as well as political options to work in foreign ministry and as a diplomat. Other opportunities may include being a tour guide, air hostess, teacher, translator, interpreter or a business consultant.
Trip to Japan
Mrs. Sasanuma took four students and one graduate to Japan from April 13 to 26 2019. They travelled Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Susono, Numazu and other cities. They experienced tea ceremony, judo and school visit. Here are some visiting places: Hiroshima Peace Park, Kyushu National Museum, Akihabara, Tokyo Disneyland, Golden Temple and Itsukushima Shrine. The students immersed in Japanese and their listening skills have improved. It was successful.
